It&#8217;s an exploitation of limestone material, marble type and Triassic origin, which is part of the Nevado-Fil\u00e1bride Complex in the foothills of the Cordillera B\u00e9tica.<\/p>\n<p>The quarry, currently owned by the company \u00c1ridos Cabezogordo, S. L., obtained his first authorization of exploitation in November 1957, but did not begin operation until May 1972. Since then, the quarry has been exerting its activity continuously.<\/p>\n<p>The exploitation sits on a total area of 64 hectares, of which 21.3 correspond to the removable surface, and reserving the rest for benefit facilities and other services (crushing and classification plant, stockpiles of finished products, offices, workshop, scale, etc.).<\/p>\n<p>The extraction of limestone method is the descending banks one, by controlled blasting. The rock, thus extracted is loaded using a backhoe in the dumpers, carrying it to the installation of crushing and classification. Two types of sands, five types of gravel and two types of artificial aggregates are obtained in this plant.
